Made With Purpose
A clutch back slides onto a post and holds through spring friction. A lever back is a single hinged wire that completes a loop through the piercing, with the lever arm locking the open end closed. There is no separate back piece, no post, and no friction grip. The security comes from the closed loop rather than from clamping tension.
