The spring mechanism inside a lobster clasp maintains reliable function through thousands of open-and-close cycles under normal wear. It is built to last at least as long as the piece it closes.
A Storied Heritage
The cultured pearl production process begins with a nucleus, typically a bead made from freshwater mussel shell, implanted into a live oyster alongside a small piece of mantle tissue. The oyster responds by coating the nucleus with nacre, the same material that forms natural pearls. The result is physically identical to a natural pearl at the nacre level. The process made the material consistent, accessible, and reproducible at scale.
Responsible Beauty
Mediterranean red coral has a color depth and surface density that synthetic substitutes do not replicate, and because the species is now protected and harvest-regulated, the coral in a contemporary Torre del Greco piece is antique, vintage, or legally sourced stock, material with its own history before the jeweler ever touched it.
