A double latch clasp has two discrete latch points, each requiring its own action, pressing, sliding, or releasing, before the mechanism opens. Both must be engaged. The clasp holds fully under single-latch contact because the second mechanism remains locked. The two-action sequence is the functional definition of the format, not an operational quirk.
