A bail is a small metal component positioned at the top of a pendant with an opening through which a chain or cord passes. In wear, it is the only point of contact between the pendant and the chain, distributing the pendant's full weight through that single connection. Its inner diameter, shape, and attachment method determine chain compatibility, hang angle, and structural durability across the pendant's wearing life.
