The deeper story

A Storied Heritage

First patented in the 1910s and 1920s, white gold alloys established the metal as a documented material in the early twentieth century, a timeline that gives more than a hundred years of fine jewelry use to what is sometimes described as a contemporary choice.

Visually Speaking

Adding a jacket to a stud increases its visual scale significantly. The surrounding decorative frame extends the stud's footprint, transforming a minimal lobe presence into a composition that reads from a greater distance and delivers more defined impact. For occasions where a stud alone doesn't carry enough presence, a jacket provides that additional scale without replacing the piece.

Elemental Detail

The distinction between palladium-alloyed and nickel-alloyed white gold is important for metal-sensitive wearers. Palladium is far less reactive than nickel-based alloys, and palladium-alloyed 14kt white gold is widely recommended by jewelers as the appropriate choice for those with known metal sensitivities.
