Origin Story
Torre del Greco's position at the base of Vesuvius, on the Bay of Naples, put it in proximity to the Mediterranean coral trade and, eventually, at its center. For over three centuries, the town's carvers have worked coral and shell into relief portraits, mythological scenes, and botanical carvings, a geographic specialization that made Torre del Greco synonymous with the cameo craft worldwide.
