A tube bail passes the chain horizontally through a cylinder rather than looping it through a ring. Weight distributes across the full width of the tube rather than concentrating at a single point, producing a different hang angle and a different visual profile at the connection point than a loop bail provides. The distinction is both structural and aesthetic.
