A Storied Heritage
Aquamarine was an Art Deco stone because the color and the movement were a natural match. The cool, geometric blue in a transparent crystal aligned perfectly with the era's palette of icy clarity, and Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels used it in some of their most celebrated pieces of the period. The association was aesthetic logic as much as fashion, and it's held long enough that Art Deco aquamarine pieces are still among the most recognized examples of the movement's jewelry.
