Heat treatment in sapphire is the industry norm, not an exception. It improves color and clarity in ways the trade accepts as standard and discloses transparently. Elemental Detail

Since 18kt white gold isn't naturally white, palladium or nickel is mixed into the alloy to neutralize gold's inherent yellow hue. Later, a rhodium plating produces a bright finish, which means that final white color is the result of two deliberate processes.

A Storied Heritage

Wartime restrictions on platinum in the early twentieth century created the conditions for white gold's development: jewelers needed a visually comparable alternative, the alloy was formalized, and the metal that began as a substitute became a permanent fixture in fine jewelry on its own terms.
