The springs inside a double latch clasp do a lot of quiet work over time, and spring tension doesn't last forever. A periodic check by a jeweler confirms both mechanisms are still holding consistent tension and sitting in proper alignment. If either becomes inconsistent, the clasp housing can be serviced or replaced. Worth doing before it becomes an issue.
