The deeper story

Stone Story

Ruby and pink sapphire are the same mineral. The distinction is saturation, enough chromium-driven color intensity and it's ruby; lighter and it's pink sapphire. But where exactly that line falls is a subject of ongoing gemological debate that different laboratories and trade organizations answer differently.

A Storied Heritage

The pieces that came out of studio-designer collaborations in the 1930s and 1940s were built to read on camera: large scale, warm metal, high visual contrast.
