Stone Story
Most gem-quality mined diamonds come from kimberlite pipes, which are ancient volcanic formations whose specific geological chemistry produces diamonds with characteristic inclusion types, crystal morphology, and trace element profiles. In some cases, those characteristics are distinctive enough that a stone's origin region can be identified from the diamond itself. The host rock leaves its signature in the material.
