The deeper story

Care & Keeping

The gold alloy in 14kt white gold is stable and does not tarnish. The rhodium plating on the surface is a separate layer that wears gradually with contact. When the plating thins, the slightly warmer white gold tone beneath may become visible; re-plating restores the bright white surface.

Heat treatment works on sapphire by dissolving silk inclusions and intensifying color distribution through the crystal. The result is permanent, stable, and visually indistinguishable from an untreated stone without laboratory analysis.
