The deeper story

Skilled Craftsmanship

Retro jewelry was made by hand before casting technology took over production. Exceptional hand-fabrication skills at the time, combined with methods that casting replaced, produced a metalwork precision visible in many period examples that later production rarely matches.

Stone Story

If a diamond's GIA report notes fluorescence, it is describing a natural characteristic: structural irregularities introduced during growth that cause the stone to emit blue light under ultraviolet exposure, occurring in a significant portion of natural diamonds, with its effect on face-up appearance in daylight varying by intensity and the stone's color grade.

Density and color both follow from gold content: 18kt white gold's 75% pure gold versus 14kt's 58.3% produces a heavier, denser alloy whose surface tone before rhodium plating runs slightly warmer than 14kt, and whose intrinsic precious metal value is correspondingly higher.
