History:
Diamond is the birthstone for April. The word diamond comes from the Greek word "adamas" meaning indestructible. It is the Zodiac stone for the constellation of Aries & Taurus. A diamond's fire, beauty and strength are unrivaled by any other gemstone.

A diamond is used to protect from illnesses, drive away bad dreams & fight depression. It's believed to help mothers with delivery at birth.

Characteristics:
A diamond is the hardest and most brilliant of all gemstones- 10 out of 10 on the Mohs scale of hardness. It is almost 100 times more resistant to scratching than the next hardest substance.
