Description

C. 1978. This Estate collection pin/pendant is all about the details. First up: a pink carved shell cameo (43x34mm) displaying two whimsical ladies face to face. Next, a .15 ct. t.w. round brilliant-cut diamond bale suspends from multiple cable chains with gemstone details. Around the feature image are florals of colorful tourmaline and .45 ct. tot. gem wt. of blue topaz and citrine. The finishing touch lies beneath the flowers as a single 5x8mm cultured pearl and rose quartz gem dangle elegantly. All this beauty is set in 18kt rose gold and that's not it -- you can also wear it as a pin. Hinged bale fits up to an 8mm chain. Includes a 1 1/4" extender. Push-pull safety. 18KT: Karat (abbreviated kt or K) is a unit that indicates the purity of gold in the metal. 18kt is 75% gold. In Europe, 18K yellow gold is most favored and used in jewelry.

Rose GoldROSE GOLD: Gold is a precious metal which is naturally quite soft. To give it a rose color and increase its strength, gold is alloyed with other metals, such as copper and silver. The purity of the metal is indicated by a unit called a "karat," with 24kt having the highest percentage of natural gold.

POLISHED: A buffed-out finish used to produce a mirror-like shine.

CableCABLE: One of the most popular and classic of chain styles, created from interlocking oval links unvarying in size.

Lobster ClaspLOBSTER CLASP: named after the pinching style of the hook, this clasp is often shaped like a lobster's claw. Use your finger to work the lever to open the clasp.

PUSH-PULL: Seen mostly on estate pins, a push-pull safety is a tube-like mechanism that slides over the end of the pin to secure it.

HingedHINGED: A bale with a hinge. The hinge allows the pendant to be placed on and taken off a chain easily and without sliding. Ideal for putting pendants on chains that have large clasps.

ShellSHELL: A treasured gift of the sea, shell has been used for ornamentation since recorded time. Shell makes a classic choice for cameo designs and is often carved in relief to display a ladylike motif, presented in a frame of precious metal.

OvalOVAL: An elliptical shape that resembles an egg.

CarvedCARVED: When a gemstone is cut so that the outline or surface takes the form or likeness of a specific image or pattern.

TourmalineTOURMALINE: the "gemstone of the rainbow" comes in a dizzying array of colors and is usually created from more than a dozen elements, making it perfect for jewelry. The most popular tourmaline is deep pink, and a true favorite is watermelon... a gem of green and pink together.

Faceted BeadFACETED BEAD: A stone with a drilled hole and a faceted surface. Strung together to decorate bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.

DiamondDiamond: The hardest and most brilliant of all gemstones, a diamond can make the heart race with its pure and fiery spark. An ancient symbol of love, a diamond is the preferred gemstone for tokens of affection, such as rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Diamond is the birthstone for April.

BrilliantBRILLIANT: A gemstone cut to enhance brilliance without sacrificing much carat weight. Typically has 58 facets.

Color Grade G-H: Near-colorless

Clarity VS2: Very slightly included. Inclusions are observed with effort under 10x magnification, but can be characterized as minor.

CLARITY SI1: Slightly Included. Inclusions are noticeable under 10x magnification.

QuartzQUARTZ: From the icy shimmer of rock crystal quartz to the delicate pink of rose quartz to the moody hues of smoky quartz, this gemstone offers something for everyone. Quartz, found in endless colors and varieties, is a popular choice for bracelets, necklaces, rings and earrings.

BrioletteBRIOLETTE: A three-dimensional teardrop gemstone bead with triangular facets all around.

TopazTOPAZ: Available in a stunning selection of shades, the topaz's sky blue hue is one of the most popular colors for jewelry designs. Once thought to offer protection, today topaz is favored for its durability and affordability. Yellow topaz is the birthstone for November while blue topaz is for December.
