A wonderful pair of earrings with plenty of bang for the buck! Gorgeous faceted round CZs in a bezel-set design are displayed in a contemporary setting in 14kt white gold. Post/clutch stud earrings in 14kt white gold.
STUD: An earring that sits stationary on the ear and doesn't drop below the lobe.
14KT: Karat (abbreviated kt or K) is a unit that indicates the purity of gold in the metal. 14kt is 58.33% gold. In the United States, 14K yellow gold is most favored and used in jewelry.
WHITE GOLD: Gold is a precious metal which is naturally quite soft. To give it a white color and increase its strength, gold is alloyed with white metals, such as silver and/or palladium, and often plated with rhodium. The purity of the metal is indicated by a unit called a "karat," with 24kt having the highest percentage of natural gold.
POLISHED: A buffed-out finish used to produce a mirror-like shine.
POST/CLUTCH: An earring with a post insert and a slide-on clutch backing to hold it in place.
Stones per Earring:
CUBIC ZIRCONIA: once called the poor cousin to the diamond, CZ's have since become a fashion statement in their own right. Perfect for travel and a little extra bling, CZ Jewelry is one of man's flawless creations.
(Color: Colorless, Quantity: 2, Shape & Cutting Style: Round Brilliant,
BRILLIANT: A gemstone cut to enhance brilliance without sacrificing much carat weight. Typically has 58 facets.
Weight: 2.00 ct. t.w.)
Although the CZ's are beautiful, the earring mounting is poor quality and flimsy. The gold is so thin that it bends everytime the earring back is placed on it. The gold band around the stone which is supposed to resemble a bezel set, is only an extremely thin wire. The setting makes the earring look cheap. I was given the sterling version of the earrings as a gift, which I returned for the gold. Neither the sterling or the gold version measure up to the quality I had expected. Will not purchase from Ross Simons again.
