Aquamarine Pendants
Aquamarine Gemstone Pendants
The largest aquamarine stone ever found was mined in Minas Gerais in 1980s Brazil and weighed approximately 100 pounds. The prospectors who discovered the rock dropped it, breaking it into three pieces, and one of which is now called the Dom Pedro Aquamarine (named after two Brazilian emperors, Pedro I and Pedro II). The famously large stone—all 10,363 carats worth (about 5 pounds)—is about 14 inches tall by 4 inches wide and currently part of the Smithsonian's National Gem and Mineral Collection in Washington, DC.
Trying to wear a five-pound aquamarine pendant necklace would be quite the feat (and perhaps a bit impractical). But you can still show off your sophisticated style with an octagonal emerald-cut aquamarine pendant necklace. Or celebrate an upcoming birthday by gifting a stunning March birthstone pendant necklace of diamonds, white and blue sapphires, and aquamarine.
Feeling whimsical? Express yourself through the jewelry you wear. Some pendant necklaces hold symbols and meanings, like a milky aquamarine, pearl, and blue topaz shell pendant in yellow gold. How about a fierce aquamarine dragon pendant with sapphire eyes that symbolizes power, wisdom, and strength. Or a delicate white topaz and aquamarine cross pendant necklace, standard among those of the Christian faith.
