About Baume & Mercier Watches
The Baume family started crafting exquisite timepieces in the hills of Switzerland in the late 1500s. From generation to generation, the Baume family passed on their knowledge of the inner workings of watch mechanisms. Then in 1830, brothers Louis Victor and Pierre-Joseph Baume created the Baume company with the motto: "Accept only perfection, only manufacture watches of the highest quality." The Baume name quickly gained recognition worldwide for luxury watches. In 1912, a talented watchmaker named Paul Mercier joined the Baume company. Eight years later, Baume & Mercier Geneva was created from the partnership of Paul Mercier and William Baume, grandson of one of the founders. The Baume & Mercier brand flourished during the roaring twenties for its elegant, decorative designs and continues to do so today.
